Wobbler and NKTC news
Written by Double Five

Great turnout at the 55 Wobbler on the 24th September.

Thank you to all who rode there as it makes it all worthwhile, and I hope you all got some tuition one way or another.

This Sunday (8th October) is the next NKTC round at Crowborough and this is on p31 of the TSM.

If anyone is interested in entering these observed trials but does not get the TSM yet, I can supply contact details if you email me.

There are two other Wobbler trials in October - details in the Events section.

Clerk Of the Course Licence - Trials
Written by Double Five
Wednesday, 04 October 2006

www.doublefive.co.uk The date for the Clerks of the Course / Stewards licence Seminar has been published in the TSM and it is on the 13th December 2006 at The Forman Institute in Blindley Heath, Surrey.

This is 10 minutes down the A22 from the M25 and it is where most of the SE Centre Trials committee meetings take place, with a bar upstairs.

To be responsible for the setting out of a trial you have to hold this licence, which must be renewed every three years, and if a club does not have a licensed official we cannot run trials.

The seminar examines the parts of the ACU handbook that cover trials and at the end a short written test is taken.

This test is not expecting you to know verbatim all the TSR’s, sections, sub-sections, paragraphs, sentences of the book, but it does expect you to know roughly where in the book to find the answers to all manner of questions that could be asked of you at a trial and what to look out for in complying with the rules to allow a trial to run successfully. If you do not know you just keep looking until you find the answer.

Mine expires at the end of this year so I am attending to hopefully renew it.

I think Chris Horn’s expires as well, so I hope he can attend, and there may be a few others who also hold a licence which is about to expire.

As a club we do need about three licence holders as a minimum to cover all the events we put on, just in case.  If you would like to put your name forward for this Seminar let me know by email so that I can block book us in and we will be able to do this seminar as a club group helping each other to gain the licence.

If any one has any questions on this just ask me.

Steve
